Break on through

Took the pup for a snowbound walk on some open land this afternoon and came across this palm sized stone ...
Curious that it was placed or dropped in this position, covered by the heavy snowfalls, then gradually uncovered as various dog owners and walkers broke a path through the area.
Morbidly (perhaps for most) I imagined it could’ve been the last message left by someone contemplating or actively “break[ing] on through (to the other side)”.

Perhaps it was simply, just a piece of rock art ...
