Horseshoe tree.

Fabled round these parts is the mysterious horseshoe tree. In days gone by, it was said that if a stranded rider left a worn or broken horseshoe underneath the tree overnight, a ghostly blacksmith would mend or replace it. The ones stuck in the trunk and turned to wood belonged to bad owners who the blacksmith wanted to teach a lesson to!
