Silhouettes
We went litter-picking today, my friend of 40 years and I. We thought that a couple of carrier bags would suffice, but were sadly mistaken. We hadn't walked more than about 500m out of the village before the bags were full; and we hadn't picked up the dog poo bags (two) or the bottles of urine (someone needs to see a doctor, judging by the strange colour . . .) or other unmentionable items.
Several people in our village have been litter-picking for a while and it's only our first time, but it's disappointing to see so much of people's detritus strewn at the roadside.
After lunch we left the bags behind and just went for a walk, trying not to pick stuff up. In the village it was less of a problem, but smokers seem to think that filter tips aren't litter (I remember my thinking the same decades ago). So eventually I took a photo of our rather lovely church in silhouette from a distance and against the evening sky.
