Happy birthday Ireland

There was the guy called Michael Collins. He grew up a few miles from my Dad's village in West Cork.

On this day 101 years ago Michael Collins, with four of his brothers, signed his name on a piece of paper that would go down in history. The five of them signed along side Winston Churchill and six other dudes from London.

The Anglo-Irish Treaty was sealed.

A year to the day later the Irish Free State was born.

I salute you Michael Collins!
