Neidpath Castle

I took this picture while on a walk this morning.
Neidpath castle is supposed to be haunted by Jean Douglas. She was forbidden to marry the son of the Laird of Tushielaw who was considered to be below her station. She “dwined” (pined away) when her lover was sent away. When he came back she was so wasted he didn’t recognise her and she died of a broken heart. She is supposed to appear in a long brown dress with a white collar
