Old and New

The signpost points visitors towards Norwich landmark buildings, notably the two Cathedrals, the old, Norman foundation of 1154 and the 'new' Victorian Gothic Catholic Cathedral completed 1910. Both are worth a visit.

St Gregory's, lit up by the rising sun on a frosty morning, is now an arts centre where I once heard a marvellously evocative performance of Saint Saens Danse Macabre on a cold winters evening such as this. The powerful music, in a church with some of the finest medieval wall paintings in Norfolk, remains one of the most memorable concerts I have attended.
