Ely Cathedral Close - cold!

A dull and very cold day, but this framing of Ely Cathedral caught my eye at lunchtime. This is the North Aisle, North Transept and the famous Octagon. See extra for a different perspective, an angled shot of the great West Doorway.

Ely Cathedral, one of the great Norman Cathedrals begun after the Norman Conquest in the 11th century, is known as the Ship of the Fens, and can be seen from miles away across the flat, low-lying countryside.
