Pound of Flesh

After the high yesterday of a major pitch, today I was brought right back down to earth. Clients not paying, chasing money. Olga, our office administrator is very good at credit control, but there are some customers who are just rubbish. It is generally the bigger companies and not the people we ever work with, it is some faceless centralised accounts department. They dictate payment terms and then abuse them. It is unprofessional, annoying, time consuming and yet, because we want to keep them as a customer, we have to put up with it.

I spent an hour this morning chasing a £240 debt. The client is a luxury hotel who would charge twice that for a room. They are desperate for us to make some chages to their site, but they have never paid a bill on time.

Frustrated and annoyed I ended up going for a walk to the butchers and ordered our Christmas Goose and Ham, I also bought beef for Sunday as all the parents are coming for lunch. The butcher is very down to earth and a conversation about proper food generally calms me down.

Staill waiting to hear the result from yesterday, excpect it will be tomorrow now.
