Vancouver to Paris

Smart motorways for unsmart people, that’s how it seems. Delayed yesterday because of a collision blocking the lanes, and delayed even longer this morning due to an even worse collision. These so called “Smart” motorway “improvements” on this stretch of the M62 will take 2 years to complete, so many more delays to look forward to :(

It was a fine morning, a clear sky with lots of jet trails. Plenty of time to enjoy the emerging morning light.

My passenger idled the time looking at the Flight Radar app and working out where the aircraft were coming from and where they were headed to. New York to Kuwait. London to Reykjavik. Manchester to Düsseldorf. London to Edinburgh. And Vancouver to Paris.

We decided to see if we could get to Swinton before the latter got to Paris. It looked unlikely, but then the flight was sent around Paris and stacked before being allowed to approach Paris CG. . So we did get to our destination first after all. Only 90 minutes to travel 12.5 miles.
