Bird watch

I stood at an  upstairs window today for half an hour, watching the arrival of our daily garden birds, It was minus three outside, so there were plenty arriving for a late breakfast of sunflower hearts, fat balls, peanuts and niger seed. 
All in all I counted 14 species - the bullfinches, pictured here, bluetits, great tits, a coal tit, our robin, a couple of starlings and magpies, our pair of wood pigeons, the blackbirds, chaffinches, siskins, goldfinches, redpolls and even a wren! No sign of our long tailed tits, dunnocks or house sparrows, but a good variety nonetheless.
