Hubby has been baking this morning.
Early blip today. I am now procrastinating the rest of the dusting! We have been looking in the top of one of the wardrobes this morning, for some board and card games, as we are having a Games Night here on Friday.
As hubby took the boxes down he had to blow off the layers of dust! It then necessitated a full dusting session, a thing I detest!
We have always enjoyed board and card games.
These contain things like Balderdash, Pictionary, Sequences (a really good card game played on a plastic grid layout).
Pit, and Articulate are amongst some of the others.
The last time we held a session was ages ago one summer evening with the patio door wide open.
One game became very competitive, (as not everyone plays the same one.)
Some of us were sitting outside at the patio table enjoying the balmy evening along with a glass of wine, and laughing at the those who were on the last leg of their particular game and had become very vociferous!
As I said, very competitive.
So it remains to be seen what will transpire at the end of this week.
Hubby then did some baking and he has made Giraffe bread and Grape and Sultana bread, the latter one is a favourite of our 3 grandchildren. He bakes one each time we go to see them, and they love it at lunchtime. It has to be dairy free as one of them is allergic to dairy products, and we are hoping
he may yet grow out of it.
I am sitting with a heap of dry laundry which is staring at me from the settee, waiting for me to put it away.
I began the task of dusting in the front room this morning as I could put it off no longer.
The sunshine revealed the layers! And when you cam write your name on the tv screen it is time to actually do something!
It is a beautiful day once more, but cold. There is a biting North wind.
A wondrous sight happened earlier!
The refuse collectors finally emptied the wheelie bins on our road as they have been "working to rule" since last month.
There was a strike in September 2017 and since then it has not been fully resolved by the Birmingham City Council, with intermittent non collection of rubbish.
I took a photo of the lorry arriving today as I couldn't quite believe it! Our bins have lined the road since December and there have been piles of black bin liners alongside some house where their bins were filled to capacity.
Now we have to wait till the next collection not knowing when........
In the meantime I had better sort out my pile of laundry and finish the dusting! (Ughh)
