Squirrel Watching

Decided to walk up to the Lodge this morning and stopped in at the hide. At first there wasn't any sign of the squirrels only birds and a woodpecker trying to break into the squirrel feeders.

We waited patiently and two little squirrels appeared. I watched them gather nuts, dig a hole, put the nut into the hole and cover it up. I also watched them pull foliage from trees and from the undergrowth and scuttle up a tree with them so I think they are probably building a nest. 

Poor Roxy was very good as I spent a good 45 minutes watching them and taking photos. The only problem is that this area of the forest doesn't get much sunshine which makes photo taking tricky and on days like today it gets VERY cold.
