Playing with Hero's prop
Another busy day at work before I spend two hours in the training hall with the boys.
Biscuit is 14 years old. He has achieved so much in his life - top placings at Danish and International Dog Dancing competitions. He is a little star.
Now he has retired from shows, but training and working is a part of his life. He enjoys his one on one time with me and the challenges. He like to earn yummy treats and feel that he has a purpose.
So Biscuit does no longer need to learn new moves or improve his skills, but he does still have his regular training sessions. Today we borrowed Hero's prop and I clicked Biscuit for offering as many different ideas as possible of things he could do with the push cart.
That's an exercise Biscuit has done many times as it is how we introduce props, when we choreograph new routines. We show the prop to the dog and sees what happens. Very often the dogs help us come up with ideas as they offer behaviours, which involve the prop and eventually these behaviours inspire moves or are used directly in the routine.
So Biscuit came up with lots of fun little moves. They will never be used in a routine, but that's not important. The main this is that Biscuit had a great time - we both had fun.
See you tomorrow
