History up above.

It was so good to see the return of clear blue skies today. I was in Reading for a while this morning and as I often do, looked above at some of the fine buildings we have. This one, used to be the famous Mcilroy department store, many years ago. The partially obscured brick lettering has the name on it. In its heyday, the rooms above the shop were for the staff who lived in, they are now flats that I suspect are quite expensive! The shop itself closed in 1955, just leaving the name and the magnificent Edwardian building.
