My Birthday Treat

My cousin and her husban came over from Christchurch and spent the day with me, seeing it was my birthday. I have been in Akaroa since January 3rd and they were the first people I had spoken to since being here. I have been busy in my garden and doing lots of reading. 

The day I arrived it was 37c. When I got out of the car I felt like I had walked into an oven. Half hour later the wind changed and the temperature dropped to 21c. We have had a couple of 30c here. Tomorrow is to be around 30c. Too hot for gardening!

Tonight I took myself out for a wonderful meal. The guy who was serving me wanted to get me a candle but all he could find was this big candle. It was such a lovely thought.
