Rest in Peace

I was out doing estimates yesterday and came across this beautiful old memorial. I really like the old style of inscriptions where the stone mason carries on across each line instead of the way it’s done now with lines centred. This style of letter is in relief which is done by carving out the background and keeping the letters flush with the face of the stone. Hope that makes sense, I know what I mean but I’m not very good at explaining sometimes. (Backblip)
