Stripped Pine

The working men’s phil soc whatsapp group was well abuzz - and a trip to Edinburgh City FC was agreed upon. AJ surveyed the desert that is North Edinburgh and settled on Spiers(es) as the meeting up watering hole at 1pm. Good choice Sir! So we had PhigBill,AJ,MrT and myself - and cigs of course, there to support the opppsition. Such was the pull that even the SK popped in for a quickie. Frank cycled straight to the ground on his fancy bike.
A big crowd - 621! Sadly, top of the table Edinburgh City were second best throughout - I’ve not seen them so outplayed this season. Well done the Binos. Harrrumph.
Home to find that the Christmas decs had been ruthlessly stripped from the tree and room. We jointly surveyed the fridge - one day of gluttony to go and then the plates will be empty. 
And later, the second of that Billy Connolly TV series: what an enjoyable show it’s been - somehow so well made and engrossing that you don’t think about its construction until it’s finished. And what a great bloke he is; they don’t make them like that anymore. Y’know, guys that used to work in the shipyards and then went on to become artists.
