Surprise visit

Last year we had a bird of prey (don’t ask me brand, model or type) attack a pigeon on our fence and then slaughter it on our terrace. I witnessed everything and was so flabbergasted that I forgot to take a photo.

Another surprise visit today. The eldest one was drawing on our window when she casually mentioned that there was ‘a big bird’ on our garage. Expecting a crow I had a look, but it turned out to be a heron! In the middle of the city... this time I was quick enough to grab my phone for this picture through the window (sorry about the reflections of our lights).
