A curious cock pheasant

Having pheasants come into my garden is a frequent event, so when this bird landed in the garden fairly close to me I assumed that he would beat a rapid retreat.  But he didn't.  He was curious, and even allowed me to fetch my camera from indoors.

I was able to approach him to a distance of about two meters (two yards) without him worrying, and he ignored the odd sounds generated by my camera.

(Perhaps he knows that the shooting season ends at the month of this month.)
