A moment’s of peace and silence

A day on the road. Hoped to leave Edinburgh at 9.00am. A forlorn and unrealistic ambition. We finally left at 10.15 and in Kent at 20.15 exactly 10 hours later.

Having said that, the journey on the road was one of the best we’ve ever had, 7hs 45 minutes driving time. No holdups or jams, light traffic and only two trucks on the single carriageway A1 between Edinburgh and Morpeth.

A longish lunch stop at Mainsgill (today’s blip and respite from the never ending tarmac) and a couple of other convenience stops accounted for down time.

Always relieved and thankful to get home from such a long journey.
