Tiny

I collect books and always have done. However, I do not collect bookmarks, I just seem to accumulate them. I have lots of them all over the house, despite seeming to give them away every so often, when someone is in need of one.

I gathered  a few for this picture and realised that I have unknowingly gone in bookmark phases. On the left are traditional ones, bought or perhaps given to me over the years. Then at some stage I discovered magnetic bookmarks and would buy them if I saw them at exhibitions etc. These seemed to stop, I don't know why.

Then I discovered tiny magnetic bookmarks and I love them. They are what I use all the time now. However, they are quite difficult to get hold of and easy to misplace, so I have to have a few around. I found the little 'meditation' set at Waterstones a while back.

And then yesterday, when we found ourselves in a bookshop in Sedbergh (strange how we often do that!), I discovered the little flowery ones. They are handmade and quite delightful. Of course I now know that I could make my own, but I doubt I will. I will just use it as a good excuse to return to the same bookshop . . . soon.
