Weary Walkers
These two conquered Roy's Peak, an 8 km uphill walk, and an equally long 8 km walk down the hill. They were pretty tired and sore by the time they reached the car park at the bottom. The extra photo is of them setting off at 6 a.m. in the morning, fresh, and ready to go. They had a cool breeze on the way up, and a hot dusty wind on the way down.
30,000 steps, 469 floors, 21 km. 7 hours all up.
I walked up 3 zigzags to meet them, 41 floors for me. I was quite tired by the time I had walked up and down about 800 metres in the heat! It is now +28C, so I have the air con on.
Today is the 24th Anniversary of my arrival to live in Wanaka. What a great decision that was, as I love living here.
Time to put my feet up.
