A walk round Loch an Eilein
The forecast was good so we set off early to go to Aviemore. It seemed strange as there is not much snow around not even on the mountain tops but the sun peeping through the clouds , the mountains in silhouette looked amazing.
We had a full Scottish breakfast in The Coffee Pot which was very good and set us up nicely for our walk.
A super walk around Loch An Eilein through a variety of landscapes with great views to the Loch.We could hear lots of birds in the treetops mainly long tailed and coal tits.
David spotted a squirrel and we watched it climbing from tree to tree. Our only sighting coincided with a mass of people, with young noisy children, walking by at the same time so the squirrel soon disappeared. The rest of the walk was fairly quiet but nice to see people out enjoying the day.
The sun did not really make an appearance until the end of our 3.3 mile walk when light hit the mountains opposite us.
We treated ourselves to a Costa hot chocolate and then a Burger King on the way home :)
