Farewell revolving door

As part of the ongoing refurbishment of the library, a new entrance had been created that is much more user friendly. The circle in the photo is the mounting point of the previous revolving door that had been there since the 1960s. I went through the old door many times as a post-grad and then more recently in my role back at the university. If you had an overenthusiastic person behind you, you would be catapulted out of the doors. Students also used to assume it was automatic and stand waiting for it to move, causing log jams and queues.
