Buck

mule deer. The herd of about forty deer were grazing in their usual place with about a hundred geese. A couple of the deer were lame. I stood watching them until they relaxed and went back to grazing and some lay down. This buck had run off away from the herd with a doe.

        Kiki's favourite walk near the river. Yesterday we walked a while in the bitter cold at Becker Lake a little further along the road but didn't go far. I nearly left the house without a camera and then I didn't put on a long lens . . . so this image is heavily cropped.
