Abbie's 1st publication

Did you know the number of persons diagnosed with dementia will rise to an estimated 115.4 million in the year 2050?

In Belgium a new initiative has started to reach out to dementia sufferers through music and singing: "De stem van ons geheugen" (= the voice of our memory).

A CD and song book have been published and the song book is illustrated with drawing/collages/paintings of young students of the Art academies of Berchem and Merksem. Abbie illustrated one of the songs and her painting was picked to be published. You can even admire her illustration online as an example!

She came home from art school this afternoon with such a proud grin!
