Frankfurt skyline

Our first day in Frankfurt.

We woke late and went for a stroll along the river followed by a quick brunch of potato fritters at the Christmas Market.

We crossed the River Main via the Eiserner Steg, a pedestrain bridge where couples show their everlasting love to each other, by attaching a padlock to the bridge (often engraved with their names and the date) and throwing the keys into the river - it was a lovely sight.

We spent the afternoon wandering round Sachsenhausen before retreating from the cold to the Stadel Art Museum.

We spent another evening at the Christmas Market - this time sampling fondue and crepes - yum.
