The Alexander Ramsey House
A listing of New Year's Day events on the Internet gave tours of the Ramsey House in St. Paul so I drove across the Cities only to discover the house closed. What tangled webs the Web weaves! Once again the Internet contrives a monumental (!) waste of time.
The house is the former residence of the aforementioned Ramsey, who in the mid 1850s came to Minnesota and was the first governor of the Territory of Minnesota and the second governor of the State of Minnesota.
It was what I think of as a typical January day in Minnesota--deceptively bright sunshine reflecting off the snow, a temperature of about 0 degrees F (minus 18 degrees C). Luckily no wind today.
Please view my photos in large, otherwise they're blurred.
Wishing my Blipfriends/followers/following a Happy New Year.
