I wasn't going to leave Chatham without trying to get into the Historic Dockyard, even if its website does say it's closed until February. Good move. We could see a reasonable amount on our walk to and into the Dockyard and we managed to get into some of the buildings on the site. Astonishing that over 500 ships were built here between 1586 (HMS Sunne) and 1966 (The Okanagan) and that the site's first royal visit was in 1573 (Queen Elizabeth I). That was some history they closed down in 1984.

Predictably I got carried away by buildings and windows so you'll have to look at Tivoli's blip for the pistachio-ice-cream-coloured machinery and the writhing chains.
