Brash

The branches go through a chipper and the chippings end up forming a nice surface for horses to train on. The fragrant pine smell is a small delight.

Thinking of small delights, I cannot find my copy of "The Small Pleasures of Life" by Philippe Delerm. Looking for a replacement I see that second hand copies are going for more than £50. A double reason for taking pleasure in finding it - if I do.

Interesting comparison today in which is tougher: spinning a static bike against a friction resistance, or cycling back up the hill afterwards. I can't ease the hill downwards with a discreet turn of the control handle, so perhaps reality wins.
