New Year's Day Swim

A much much milder day for it than the other years I have been to Mountcharles to watch Michael taking part in the New Year's Day swim, but I still wasn't tempted. Donating some money (in aid of the RNLI), taking a few photos & supporting the braves souls, more up my street.

In the early hours heading back along a country road, I noticed a bird on the grass up the middle of the road, so I stopped & dipped the lights, it was a Woodcock, I got out of the car & quite close to it, before it moved off & eventually flew off into the night. An unexpected encounter.
