Blazing brazier!
Mike made this brazier a few years ago, but the gaps between the struts meant too much small stuff fell out. This years modification has been to wind steel rods round it, and weld onto them leaf shapes that he has cut out from sheet steel. It looks magnificent, ginkgo, sycamore, elm, willow, ash and oak all showed up well against the flames.
A&C came round for an early evening meal then Mike togged up and went out to light the brazier. Even though the wind was already picking up, various neighbours gathered at the top of the shore. Despite the true Scots amongst them weren't happy about it, we raised our glasses and wished each other a happy New Year! I'm sure it counts, even if it was before 9pm!
A very happy and peaceful New Year to all blippers and their loved ones. Let's hope 2019 is a year to remember for lots of good reasons.
