New Year's Resolution
Inscribed on the Lincoln Memorial is the perfect New Year’s resolution for Americans and people from other countries who still admire this nation despite all its conflicts and contradictions. Resolved for this new year, in words spoken nearly 154 years ago:
“With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation’s wounds . . . and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.”
Here's wishing everyone, everywhere, a peaceful, happy, healthy new year.
