Should Auld Aquaintance Be forgot

While we were on holiday last week - possibly a week ago today, just after the sign post terror incident, we decided that rather than stay in and hide, and go to bed as we normally do, we would celebrate our New Year, in our Favourite Bar  - with our favourite Cluck Norris Burger - and a few pints. 

We booked the table on line (we hoped)  but we weren't 100% sure, being as we were, slightly worse for wear on the Baileys. 

When we walked up today, we were delighted to see the sign on the table "Reserved for Helen"  yay!!!!  how happy were we

Settled in our favourite booth - right by the door, we can see everything from there - people on the street, people coming in, the kitchen, the bar, we started gentle.  And then discovered that they have redone the menu with recommendations for which beer should be drunk with which food. So we had to order more. 

Then the Bar Manager came over to see how we were and gave us a lovely Brewdog Craft Beer book - muchos gracias.  He told us we had chosen well our timing- they were having a Dog Friendly Hogmany tonight - and were fully booked. 

then the burgers, then more beer, then I spotted the staff making hats up .... Party hats for dogs!   I volunteered my services.  I mean really ....what could be better?  Lovely bar, lovely beer, lovely staff and I get to craft too. 

Himself was most amused by my enthusiasm.  even more amused when they offered us a drink for our efforts.

Happy New Year Everyone - remember tomorrow is just another day - nothing massive happens at midnight, and tomorrow is what you make of it

I'm going to be making a lot of smells in the toiilet after all that beer.
