Aperture on Life

Early Snow

I haven't gone back to check but this must be one of the earliest snowfalls I can remember in Surrey. I left work this morning, arriving home in a thick sharp frost, planning a couple of macros of the ice on the grass. After my regular snooze on the sofa, I woke up, at 7.30am, to this was a surprise! I hope this isn't the first confirmation that this winter is going to be another hard one. There isn't much more the weather can hurl at us in 2012!

I am normally home somewhere around 5.30am. In the summer it can be lovely, before the rest of the world awakes, to have such an early start, but in the winter I tend to have a nap and watch a catch up of anything I missed on TV the previous evening before calling myself alive. There isn't much I am enticed to do when it's pitch black and cold outside.

The snow didn't last long and this afternoon the sun is out with no sign of this mornings blanket. It's bitterly cold and the ice is still thick and the temperatures are falling again now. Time to put on hat and gloves. Those little mutts would like a walk, whatever I feel about going out!
