Edinburgh is waiting
My 1460th blip today which I guess is 4 years, I didn't actually start until the 1st of January 2015, but I guess there's been a hiccup somewhere along the way. I've thoroughly enjoyed the 4 years and have managed without any gaps which I'm pleased about. I love the blip community and so appreciate the interactions with other blippers near and far, thank you all for your friendship, support and humour. Here's to the next 4 years.
I was in town after church today and everywhere was so busy. Preparations for the New Year party are going on everywhere. There are lighting gantries taking up large chunks of pavement especially on Princes Street which makes it tricky for pedestrians.
I popped into a couple of the sales on George Street and bought a hat, sort of a posh toorie bonnet! After a brief sortie into Jenners again I had had enough so fought my way to the bus stop to come home.
The top two images show a stage being set up on Castle Street and secondly the main stage area being set up in the Gardens. There must be plenty of opportunities of work for those involved. It was interesting to see rope workers on the Castle St stage, that seems to be a growing industry.
The other two images are in St Andrew's Square, the Sir Tom Farmer nativity and the Chanukah Menorah. It's a lot quieter there with the skaters making their way around the Dundas Statue / the Melville Monument .
I headed home mid afternoon looking forward to a quiet evening with perhaps a game of Trivial Pursuit.
On target to complete my steps today which is good. Update, 15165 steps.
