Life through the lens...

Route 67

We parked at Thwaite  Mills ( see collage)  ( see map) on the banks of the river Aire and took the walking/cycle track, Route 67 into Leeds.
We haven't done this before as the path has been closed for a few years due to a new flood defence scheme being built.across the river.  ( see collage) This is at Knostrop, and uses a moving weir technology.

A dull afternoon, and not very good for photographs, but very mild 12C
Good walking weather though.

As we came to the outskirts of the city, we passed some very desirable waterside apartments. Only about five stories high with lovely balconies overlooking the river. A great place to live if you have now children and work in Leeds.
Then walking underneath a bridge we came across Leeds's version of Banksy. ( see collage) Rather liked his polar bear. He was worried it looked too fierce,  but said I didn't think so.

Had a walk round Leeds Docks. Such a pity most of the shops/ cafes are still empty, although the apartments seem to be all occupied.
However  there is now a yellow water taxi which runs between the docks and Granary Wharf. Surprisingly it is free!
( see collage)
We turned round at this point as it was after three  and had a couple of miles to walk back to the car. Car park closed at 4.30.pm.

We will certainly do the walk again, and next time catch a water taxi to Granary Wharf.
