A small group of thoughtful, committed people...
...showed up at the ICE Building on a rainy night at the end of the year to meditate together, to listen to Bajo Salario sing about La Migra (Fea! Fea!)*, and to support each other in the commitment to offer welcome to those seeking asylum, to those in the caravan, to those who have made it here.
The wind and rain kept blowing out the candles, but a few people lit the flashlights in their phones.
Extra is Maria Damaris and Leonidas Salazar Tixi.
*La Migra is what many immigrants from the south call the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) cops; fea! means "ugly!" in español.
