Moored
We had a "field Trip" planned today to St Bathans. This is a lovely old mining area a couple of hours away with a big hole filled with water (a lake) and lots of lovely old buildings. There were going to be 5 of us and dogs were not included. Last night however the weather turned very wet and the forecast became doubtful so acyclinggranny and The Boss decided to can it and this morning that proved to be a good decision as it was still raining and being generally ugg. So I was a bit surprised when right after grub (theirs and mine) the Boss popped my car harness on and we hopped into Suzz and away. Mount Iron was obscured by cloud and rain and I never really thought we were going up there but just in case a did a couple of bars of Cantata for travelling K9's in e flat as we approached the car park and stopped singing as we shot past. I then considered we might have been going to THC (Tussocks Holiday Camp) although there were no signs at home, suitcases and confusion etc, but suddenly we turned left on to the Hawea road and I remembered my last trip there (Remaining, 29th November) and got really excited enough to start the Cantata again in a slightly higher key (G sharp) continuing all the way there. Then things went seriously wrong as we stopped at the turn off the main road, The Boss got his camera out and stuffed it up his jacket (it was raining) ran across the road, took some shots and ran back. Then we did a U turn and returned home where I was informed that "here endth the outing" so I stayed in and watched the weather come and go for the rest of the day. The Boss went out in the afternoon to help atravellingkiwi set up Lightroom on her new PC and came back smelling of J's new pup...Sam the Border Collie. I have already met Sam and he is just lovely and agreed to my management arrangements immediately so I am sure we will have a great time together. The Boss said that he will get bigger but I am not concerned. An agreement is an agreement. WOOF!
The image explains it all. Big cloud, rain, tiny burst of light and a happy Boss.
I suggested an immediate increase in grub supply might ensure continued luck in the future but The Boss was just like this boat. Not moving. Sigh
Over the fence and into the lake
