Alamökki

The artwork "Alamökki" by Kimmo Schroderus was unveiled four months ago in front of Ylöjärvi town hall. I wasn't there and haven't stopped to shoot it before now, driving back from Tampere after taking Triinu to the railway station early in the morning.

Alamökki is made in honour of Eppu Normaali, one of the most popular rock bands in Finland. The artwork is made of stainless steel using a silicon model of the original Alamökki ("the lower cabin"), a small hut on the yard of the childhood home of brothers Martti (the singer) and Pantse (the guitarist) Syrjä. The hut was the band's first training room and home studio.
