Fairview on Lake Union
Fairview #1
Been thinking more about the One Street project. I live between 2 streets I'd like to follow. Eastlake and Fairview.
I plan to post a simplified map on blip soon in which it will be easier to describe.
So for today, this is the corner of Fairview Ave E. and the street I live on, --it's more like a "country lane" than a busy city street. I liked all these signs. --press L to see large... There are almost no sidewalks. It runs along Lake Union in Seattle so on one side there are floating homes and water related businesses. And there are little pocket city parks where the perpendicular streets meet the lake. "Our" park has recently been remodeled and relandscaped by the city and the neighbors. One of the neighbors is walking her dog there. One of the signs you see here, Cheshiahud Loop, tells us that this street is part of a 6 mile walking circumnavigation of Lake Union - more about that in a future blip. You can maybe see the wind in the willow tree here - it started to rain about a minute later. Aurora bridge in the background, and snippets of Gasworks Park...
Edit: Here's a photo of working on that Street End Park ! from last March.
This area is not very big, but in the 25 years we have lived here, I still have not really "noticed" all that is here...this project is going to make me take note of more and also provide some material for our local newsletter.......
