Once upon a time in the olden days when people had money (1800's) they built a library aka "Reading Room". Here clever Victorians read about new inventions studied the classics and built an empire, but then disaster struck and the empire began to crumble the "Reading Room" closed down and became hidden by platerboards and fake walls - lost forever.
Rediscovered by chance in the 1990's , and fully restored to its former glory a few years ago (marble columns, ornate tiles, mosaic ceiling and original parquet flooring) its now not a place of study and invention but coffee - How society has changed!
