Edinburgh Craigleith cycle path pilot
I last rode my bike early on 27th November. This was the day that my mother called me and my sisters home in anticipation of my father's death (which actually came ten days later on 7th December). This blip of cycle path graffiti art marks my return to proper exercise today after a month's break due to a host of family commitments away from home, and the added inconvenience of flu followed by a nasty cold.
I spent the rest of the day pottering about, with an afternoon trip out to the charity shops (three items delivered, two bought), the butcher, and the supermarkets. Meanwhile back at the house Mr hazelh transformed an antique glass-fronted bookcase into a bootcase for me.
This evening we popped along the road to a drinks party. Here we renewed friendships with some of our neighbours, and met others for the first time - including our hosts (brave people to invite the 'rent-a-crowd' hazelhs unseen!) I think that I may have consumed a little too much of the fizzy stuff... (hic).
Exercise today: 10 mile bike ride, walking (11,226 steps).
