2018 Tuesday — Christmas

Even though this photo does not look very Christmasy, we were enjoying a holiday moment as our granddaughter and her family stopped to visit with us for a portion of this evening.

So this is Desiree, her husband Justin (who is a sailor in the U.S.Navy), Tristan, and little Jade, who is sound asleep. They had spent a part of their afternoon at Desiree’s other grandparents’ house. We had a good time with them. We were able to give them their gifts, and I was able to play a quick game of Scrabble with Tristan.

Then they headed for their home in San Diego.

Overall we experienced a very quiet day, and an enjoyable day. Nothing fancy or extravagant, but satisfying just the same.

P.S. We didn’t cook Christmas dinner because it was just the two of us and because we had planned to be in Cayucos (where our refrigerator and pantry have all the makings of a holiday meal). Instead, we went out to eat.
