Boxing Day Board Games?

I've been getting caught up in playing Fantasy Forest at family gatherings for a few years now. As a game that's designed for "Ages 5 and up" I should have got the hang of it by now, but I'm still not quite sure what's going on - maybe that's because we normally play after "getting into the festive spirit"!!
