Completed at Last
Yesterday I completed the Afghan I have been making. I taught myself to crochet in June when recovering from surgery. As I had not made anything like this before, I did not realise until part way through the border that it just extended the outside squares, as it was the same yarn and the same stitch. I made a length of cord using the same yarn and “French Knitting” technique, which I threaded through to define the actual Afghan. It is made up of twenty-eight squares, each about thirty centimetres in size, plus a border of ten rounds. It is now in my conservatory so that when it is chilly I can still sit in there and watch the wildlife in the garden. It has taken a while, but I have crocheted two small cat Afghans as well as knitting some other items in between.
It was misty this morning and quite cold although the sun shone for a while. Another day of doing very little, but I have crocheted one purple, twelve round square for my next project.
