 Gemstones are known to absorb and store energy and then to release it in a perfectly ordered way. The effect is what makes quartz watches work. (gemstones have their own individual properties)  But also take a look at Dr Masaru Emoto's studies with water it's very interesting. I have some of his books and the water crystals are beautiful.
