Scar House reservoir

Today was bright and sunny - perfect for a walk in Nidderdale to blow away the cobwebs!
We did a circuit of Scar House reservoir. It's an easy walk, but it was rather windy as you can tell from the waves on the water in one of the extras. 
The main shot was actually taken from the top of the adjacent Angram reservoir, which flows straight into Scar House reservoir. You can see the shadows cast by the low sunlight passing under the arches. 
We were delaying stopping to eat our sandwiches until we were out of the wind when we passed some other walkers who were handing out slices of pork pie! That was a very welcome act of kindness!

Scar House reservoir was built around 100 years ago and supplies Bradford with water. The Victorian architecture, attention to detail and craftsmanship is so impressive. Nowadays such structures would be built purely on a functional basis.
