Par Avion

Our first Christmas card arrived a couple of days ago from France, but from our Cornish friends, J&S, who have a house in both these wonderful places (how lucky can you be?!). The stamp on the envelope bore the picture of a Tiger Moth aeroplane and on T's further inspection (with a magnifying glass) of the registration number on the plane it became apparent that it was the very same Tiger Moth which J&S spent a considerable time lovingly restoring some years ago.

We have spent many happy times staying in our friends' beautiful old Farmhouse in Cornwall and on many occasions have shared bathrooms, bedrooms and passageways with various Tiger Moth parts of varying shapes and sizes. Once the plane was finished Mrs. S test flew it across the water to France where they both arrived safely. Both T and I flew in this actual Tiger when we stayed with J&S in France last year. J took T for a flight and then it was my turn with Mrs. S. It was a great experience. On the stamp J&S are enjoying a leisurely flight over the forest near to where they live in France and where the TM spends all her time now.

Some years ago we received a Christmas card of this very same picture, and now it has turned into a stamp to send one!
