Monday: Downtown Baubles

We popped out to the local supermarket this morning to get a few more supplies for tomorrow and were really impressed with how quiet and civilised everything was. We took that all back when we popped to the liquor store this afternoon where it was sheer pandemonium and bedlam. Maybe we had just misjudged people's priorities!

We attended the 1pm carol service at Christ Church Cathedral as I was doing a reading. It was excellent fun - the main draw was the gospel choir who perform there annually. It was a really lively event.

Other good news is that we have been loaned a little fridge for the holidays so that's really helpful. Hopefully ours can get repaired soon.

And had a most excellent burger at Darby's - black currant and Brie........

After years of it passing me by, I have finally read 'The Great Gatsby' - just as well, as I had no idea what had really happened, beyond the most famous bits.......I was clearly just assuming wrong all these years........
